Ted Baker Children’s Wear Print
I created this illustration for Ted Baker, and I came across it in my archive file, Its extremely feminine and cute, not my usual style, it was commissioned for Ted Baker girls children’s wear. I created a range of prints for the children’s wear department, at that time when I was freelancing as a fashion print designer for a range of different fashion brands.
This illustration print has a busy feel. I created patterns, floral motifs, sticking printed panels, and buttons which would be sewn on to the garment once the print was printed. garment prints are tactile items of clothing. to make them stand out and interesting you often have to think outside the box and understand how the wear would wear the item.
The Ted Baker brief for the girls wear was to use different printing techniques and to think outside of the box. I like to experiment with different materials and techniques. it’s interesting to see how materials work together. once the print and techniques are signed off and sent to the manufactures for the sample. It is often a waiting game to see what the sample will look like when it comes back to you.
