Overview
Commissioned by Metropolitan Magazine via Cedar Communications, this illustrated map captures the vibrant spirit of Stoke Newington—a neighbourhood known for its independent shops, eateries, and green oasis, Clissold Park. The map blends practical wayfinding with editorial storytelling, celebrating local culture and community.
Approach
The illustration was created through a detailed multi-stage process: starting with fine-line ink spot illustrations of key locations, followed by a hand‑drawn street layout, and enhanced digitally with typography and selective colour. The aim was to maintain a crafted aesthetic while delivering clarity and visual cohesion.
