Prudential ride London floral bike ride art

Over the weekend, A charity event was held in London to raise money. The Prudential Ride London bike event was a massive cycling event which involved 50,000 cyclists to take the party and ride through the streets of London and Surrey, Starting from Stratford Olympic Park and finishing on the Mall in London. It was a great day to take over the streets and for people to enjoy cycling at any pace, fast and slow, with family and friends.

My Ride London floral bike ride art illustration was inspired by my love of cycling, and of London, the city where I live and work and am inspired by, it’s given me so much fun and joy, I enjoy creating London themed illustrations.

With this illustration the theme of London was very strong, I started by creating the swirl framework, and layering of different elements, such as the cyclists, and iconic imagery of London, to form the story of the riding through London. the flowers and leaves I created using photoshop and illustrator, hand drawing them, and importing them into photoshop to add in intricate floral characteristics.

Once the flowers and leaves were completed, using my Wacom pen tool, and imported them back into illustrator which is the software I use the most to create most of my artwork. I converted the photoshop images to vector, smoothing out the vector lines with the pen tool, one of my favourite and useful tools for an illustrator.
