Vector Water Colour Crow
You have established an illustration career, and you have a distinctive style which you are recognized for certainly puts you in an interesting position. Most illustrators do not try and deviate too much from a distinctive illustrative style, as a client will certainly commission you if they have your particular style in mind for a brief. A style can also pigeonhole you at the same time, as you are seen by a client to only create work in one specific style, and your work might not be a suitable for a potential job.
I have a particular style, which I would describe as feminine and floral, as well as being delicate and intricate. Clients who commission me for a project reference my work, and sometimes ask for something similar based on a past illustration. Sometimes, this makes working on a brief easy.
The watercolour crow artwork is a slight departure from my usual vector I illustrate. I enjoy experimenting and trying different things, I definitely recommend taking some time out of your day and work on a sketch or trying working in a different way from which you would normally.
I decided to try an experiment with a different drawing style. The crow water work style has been created digitally, I first created the crow artwork as a flat vector-based artwork, and I quite simple experimented with the different effect tool within Adobe Illustrator to create the watercolour effect. The watercolour work adds a different feel and looks to the flat vector artwork. The watercolour effect is something I will try and use in other pieces of work.
