Typographic Calendar Months Postit Notes

Typographic Calendar Months Post-it Notes photographic Journal. I worked on a personal project for 2017 that involved illustrated the months onto the square of a Post-it note and take a photo of the Post-it note at a location, sometimes it was planned and at other times it was when I liked where I was standing visually. The photos were then uploaded to my Instagram account where I also post my Moleskine city map drawings

I remember January quite fresh and cold around Brick Lane you can find many good backdrops which make good places for a photoshoot, I saw a garage door that had fly posters posted on it a good place to start my visual monthly post-it notes.

Walking through Shoreditch in February you can find yourself around the mini roundabout that has the old Victorian bandstand, the Victorian social housing Boundary Estate, which has stood since 1890

March Shoreditch, I remember looking for an interesting location and walking through Shoreditch, I found myself near the Guy Ritchie Movie location Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels filming location: Eddie and Bacon escape from the law: Pedley Street, Shoreditch, London E1

April Greenwich Park, One of my favourite places in London, looking down over London you can see the tall new Skyscrapers mixing in with the old architecture, its a place to see how London is changing and yet still retains much of its old charm, I like to come up here on Sundays and cycle, the perfect place to capture the mood for April post-it note.

May New Cross Gate, I was running out of time this month to find an interesting location, on my walk home I saw in the distance vibrant purple flowers and new it would make an interesting contrasting background for the post-it note drawing.

June Venice, I was excited to be in Venice, a beautiful cultural city, every corner is just as beautiful as the last, standing on the Ponte Dell’Accademia looking down the Grand Canal, one of the many famous vistas of Venice the perfect location for my monthly Post-it note Instagram post.

July Limehouse, close to my current studio, Summertime is the best time in London, this is a quick note to capture the sunny weather and blue skies over London during that sunny July day.

August Lake Como, Back in Italy for a short stay in Bellagio, Italy where I was travelling around Lake Como. Lake Como makes a stunning backdrop for my August Post-It note.

September Kerela, During a 2 week trip to India where I travelled to Mumbai and then travelled down to Kerela, I spent 2 nights on a houseboat that slowly wound its way through the many backwater canals that also made an interesting backdrop and memory for the September Post-It note.

October St James Park, Moving into the autumn season of the year, the leaves are turning brown and tumbling, St James Park is a good place experience the season shift in the weather, with many tall trees and much more leaves on the floor to kick through while you walk through the park, the perfect place to capture the autumn season for the Post-It note project.

November Borough Market, Winter is drawing in at this time of year, and Christmas is around the corner, Borough market is a hive of activity, with market stalls selling season produce and products just right for the cold winter days, Here I am in Borough market with my November Post-It note.

December Regent Street Xmas Lights, on Regent Street, London, an exciting time of year, the Christmas lights are up around London and there is a good festive spirit around.
