Silhouette Vector Hair

New life is blooming all around us at this time of year, I was inspired to create a spring scene illustration, playing with the theme of hair and flowers and all things in bloom. A big part of my work is nature, this particular illustration was an exercise combining nature and the feminine figure. I would like to introduce the whole figure at some point in my work, and experiment with combining my work with fashion illustration, I am a big fan of such fashion illustrators as Jason Brooks, David Downton, Tony Viramontes, Kelly Thomson to name but a few.

The hair print is very busy, I created the base Silhouette frame of the hair first, which is synonymous of much of my illustration work. Once the base has been created the other elements, in this case, the natural elements such as the leaves, flowers, birds, and insects were placed onto the hair frame. The elements are carefully placed. and much of the placement is down to how all elements interact with each other, as well as taking into consideration how the whole piece of work balances as a whole.
