City Location Drawings and Handy Sketchbook
I almost never write posts that are not about work. That’s because I really enjoy what I do, but the location is a massive part of it. I’ve been able to use my location in so many creative ways, which is something I’m passionate about. In this post, I want to share with you some city location drawings I’ve been up to lately. Some of them you may have seen before, but hopefully, you’ll enjoy seeing them all together in one place.
I find inspiration in the places I visit. No matter where I am, I can always find something unique, intriguing and inspiring. I have been travelling a lot recently, and I take my sketchbook with me wherever I go. I keep it close by so that I can take advantage of the moments I find when I’m walking around the city.
I like to make quick sketches of the city’s architecture and landscape – the parks and bridges, the familiar facades and the street signage. Each sketch is unique and special. It’s a way for me to create something lasting from my visit. Through my city location drawings, I am able to say more than I could with words or a photo. I get an intimate look at how a city lives and breathes, how it shapes itself and interacts with its citizens. Each sketch is an opportunity to capture a moment in time and experience the city in a deeper way.
So next time you are in an unfamiliar place, take some time to draw and sketch what you see. Create a map of a place you visit. Capture the sense of life and culture. Sketch your city and embrace the experience.
