Pickmeup Exhibition 2014
The fifth year of the PIckmeup graphics and illustration festival comes back again to Somerset House in 2014 with drawings and prints by artists, creative groups and galleries from around the world.
There are many established and well know designers and artists contributing to the annual festival celebrating graphic design and illustration in all its manifestations. That’s thanks, partly, to the large exhibition space filled with a varied and breadth of design and illustrative work at the Embankment Galleries at Somerset House and to a lively programme of activities made to enhance the visitors own creativity, as well as for those who illustrate and design for a living.
The Exhibition was lively and energetic, with a buzzing environment and feel. There were many visitors milling around the exhibition space, interacting with the designers and illustrators, being interested and buying prints they liked as well as taking part in drawing and printmaking workshops dotted around the exhibition. The exhibition was full to the brim with a wide and varied selection of designs and illustrations, enough to make any visitor inspired. A well put together exhibition where you come away with a mind full of inspirations as well as an opportunity to take home your own piece of art.
Graphic art and design agencies collectives and publishers will put up their most interesting and striking designs for those interconnecting spaces to create exciting studio environments in which they’ll sell a wide range of work by artists and illustrators from around the world. And while some of the work on sale is by established artists, there’s plenty by emerging talent at more affordable prices.
