Nightshade Book Cover Art

Here is a Book illustration cover artwork for a new brief, to design a new book cover illustration for the title Nightshade, Little Brown Book Company commissioned me to create an illustration for their new fictional tile. The illustration had to have a dark and gothic look and feel to it.

This is a new werewolf book by a debut author. It is at the mature, sexier, more emotionally sophisticated end of the Young Adult paranormal spectrum. The illustration brief was to design quite a mature, tough, seductive and cover, that moves on the Twilight genre. It is a Gothic Romance title.

The title typography is the main design focus on the cover, the type extends, which incorporated Calla Lilies to be the main content in the cover title type, but with a distinctly gothic look, with thorns incorporated, the idea was to keep away from the flowery feminine style that I am usually commissioned for by clients.
