London Borough Market Line Drawing
Living in London, you realize there are many pockets and areas, each distinct and different from each other. I am lucky to be living a short train journey from London Bridge and Borough Market, which is a great place to visit on the weekend, It has great character and charm, even with the fast pace and rate at which London is ever-changing with the new building going up and old ones coming down. Borough market has also been changed and developed recently, however it still manages to retain its old charm, with its beautiful old character and stylised architecture.
I illustrated a sketch line drawing of Borough Market, which included many recognizable and well know Landmarks, which people come to see from the world over, these included, Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral, the Shard and A couple of the old London shopfronts, which are successful businesses. Borough market is also well known for its great and tasty food, where people travel to, for Breakfast, Lunches, and Dinner.
I initially drew the streets of Borough and built up the illustration drawing the historical and well-known landmark architectural buildings of the areas, as well as the well-known food, from the markets and restaurants. Each illustration is hand-drawn using a selecting of fine liner Rotring pens with varying widths. Once all the line drawings were created, I scanned each of the drawings into Adobe Photoshop and placed them onto separate layers, where they could be manipulated using masks to create textures and colours.
