Les Echos Magazine Map of Holland
Les Echos, is a well-known magazine in France, They contacted my illustration agent Hugo, who is based in Paris, which was to commission me to create a map of Holland, and in an illustrative way draw the logos of companies who head offices are based in Holland and their cities, these illustrations would accompany an article inside of Les Echos.
The brief was to show the logos of the companies and the cities they are based in Holland. The brief was also not to show stereotypical imagery of Holland. I focused on the interesting architecture of the cities where the large companies named in the article and map were based such as the interesting town houses of Amsterdam, The International Court of Justice, at The Hague.
The architecture drew each of the cities, however, was not to distract from the logos of the companies which are the feature of the maps and the article. Each of the hand-drawn elements was then composed and arranged within photoshop, which made certain elements easy to apply colour too, as the client required a colour scheme which was complimentary and highlighted the feature of the companies and the cities.
