Hand Drawn London Iconic Buildings
My obsession with London, now knows no bounds, and it grows increasingly over the summer months, where the atmosphere in London city is positive. as we all look ahead to the summer, whatever that may be, going out being with family and friends, enjoying the outdoor entertainment. I have been drawing increasingly more, in my Moleskine sketchbooks, layout pads, scraps of paper. drawing ideas and concepts I have thought about. Here is a series of drawings, Looking at the London Skyline, we can’t seem to escape the urban sprawl which is happening all around us, and the London pace seems to grow even faster.
I have created this series of London Iconic buildings, to capture the London skyline. I draw detailed sketches of the London architecture, which we all know so well, the buildings are fantastical as well as internationally recognized. The concept for this series of drawings was to capture the tops of these well-known buildings, I decided to crop the drawings to the essential details of the buildings, to leave just enough detail, without losing the essence of the building, my thoughts were to leave enough detail, which actually enhances the architecture of the buildings while leaving enough thought for anyone else to fill in the gaps for themselves using their own imaginations.
I had the illustrations printed as postcards, to hand out to friends, and clients, which make good keepsakes, as well as being handy postcards to send, as well all like to receive handwritten messages in a digital age.
