Bombay Sapphire
Young & RubicamI was commissioned by st illustration for Bombay Sapphire, the illustration was not used for the campaign, sometimes these things happen with projects.
The brief is to have a pattern-like look to it but with obvious/subtle elements telling the story of Bombay Sapphire – this is the essence of the brief and something the AD should explain.
The Bombay sapphire test is an artwork that tells the story of ‘imagination’. It should be a mix of elements that you discover in the visual promoting the story to Bombay Sapphire i.e. having the imagination to search the globe to find 10 different botanicals to make their gin different however it should also be a pure celebration of imagination. Something that makes the world a more interesting place
The illustration would consist of real Sapphires used to create shapes of the Bombay Sapphire ingredients and objects that translate and conjure up the feeling of imagination. I first sketched the illustration, and from there I moved onto Adobe illustrator, creating the flat vector artwork as a guide to place individual dots onto, and to create the outline shapes of the ingredients and image objects.
