Cycling Around London Town
I enjoy cycling, as well as living in the greatest city in the world, London. I created this personal piece of work mostly out of enjoyment, and a little portfolio piece of work, combing this 2 things I enjoy, cycling and London town.
I have increasingly introduced typography into my work. combining hand-drawn scripted type with my illustration style. I created London iconic landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben, and the Sir Norman Foster skyscraper, the Gherkin and incorporated them with cycling illustrated elements. The bike chain is the link device I thought of to bring the elements together.
I use google images to reference imagery I am going to use in an illustrated project. I like to choose 3 -4 different looking objects and decide upon the best one to use, it’s mostly chosen on an aesthetic level, and how the other elements and images work together. I use a combination of drawing the elements and tracing them in illustrator to convert them into vector artworks, the next step is combining all the illustrated elements and organizing them into a cohesive illustration.
