On my weekend trip to Zurich Switzerland and Bregenz Austria, A relaxing weekend spent with a friend that lives in the small Austrian town. Bregenz is a charming little town that is based on Lake Constance, nestled between the Swiss and German Borders. Bregenz hosts an annual music festival during the summer months at the world-renowned Opera House. An interesting feature of the Opera house is the stage set based on Lake Constance itself and the theatre being in the open air. The opera Theatre was also featured in the Daniel Craig Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

– Bregenz Opera House: A traditional opera house, with an open-air lakeside stage, where productions are held in the most spectacular fashion

– The Kunsthaus Gallery: is also internationally renowned amongst aficionados of art and architecture. It was designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. The gallery has a glass facade, the interior is an open plan space constructed of concrete

– Post Office Building Bregenz: Located near the harbour and the railway station, the Post Office was built in 1895. This grandiose building has the same construction as the Imperial Post Office in the Bad Ischl resort

– Fishersteg Sunset Bar: The balcony over the lake the Fischersteg is a relaxing place for an evening drink overlooking the Lake Constance and enjoy the sun setting over the horizon.
