Moleskine City Map Drawings illustration
Moleskine City map drawings of cities I have either been to or cities I would like to travel to in the future. The Moleskine City Map drawings is a personal project I have been working on over the last 5 years. The Moleskine city maps started from a drawing in my small Moleskine sketchbook of a planned date.
The date involved a number of locations around London such as the Royal Academy of Arts, the large Waterstones Book shop near Picadilly Circus, the Photographers Gallery in Soho as well as enjoying a walk down Carnaby Street.
The Moleskine maps then developed into a personal project of trips to Europe. Some of which were holidays and the majority of them being planned day trips. I wanted to capture a map that had the highlights of a city which could be seen within a few hours.
I would normally arrive early in the morning and leave late in the evening. This would maximize my time in the city to allowing me to see as much as was able to while at the same time I would be drawing in my Moleskine sketchbook. The map of the city would then be shown to my social media followers on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. While I am in a particular city,
I like to visit a museum or gallery to enjoy a bit of culture. I use my camera to take photographs of architecture, people, street art for reference material.
The day would fly by pretty quickly. As soon as you know it, its late evening and time to fly back home again.
